Market Lane is proud to introduce its first ever decaffeinated coffee, San Antonio. This sweet and delicious decaf is grown and processed in Colombia and roasted in small batches in Melbourne. Market Lane meticulously sought a decaffeination process that preserves the coffee’s quality and unique taste profile. The San Antonio beans originate from the hills surrounding the town of San Antonio, benefiting from the region’s rich, volcanic soil, cool temperatures, and high rainfall. These conditions contribute to the development of beautifully sweet and complex coffees. Farms in the area are typically small, with producers and their families involved in most aspects of the coffee production. The coffee cherries are hand-picked and wash-processed, often with producers utilizing small on-site mills or sharing mills with neighboring farms. Market Lane sources this coffee through its Colombian supply partners, Pergamino, a family-run business known for connecting coffee buyers with small, high-quality producers. Pergamino carefully selected exceptional lots to create this sweet, clean, and creamy decaf offering. Market Lane chose the EA sugarcane process for decaffeination, a method that uses water and a natural compound found in sugarcane to gently remove caffeine, preserving the coffee's inherent flavor and quality. The resulting coffee has a lovely buttery mouthfeel and is perfect for those who wish to enjoy a caffeine-free cup without sacrificing flavor. The Inzá region’s rich, volcanic soil, cool temperatures and high rainfall support the production of sweet and complex coffees.
